Dream Interiors & Accessories

When we walk on the street, we all pass by a gorgeous, stunning house from time to time.
I always wonder if the interior of the house, looks as luxurious as the exterior.
I'm taking you on a trip to my fantasy house from the inside and out!

This lovely NYC townhouse is a dream!

Dream Interiors

The entrance would have a double staircase like this:

It would have cute little chests around the house, played beautifully with decorations like this picture:

The hallway neighbouring the bedrooms would look this this one:

The master bedroom would have a glamorous tufted headboard.

The bedside has a tray of my favorite perfume bottles.

To complete the rooms perfectly, I would add a home perfume!
Lampe Berger Paris is a luxury brand of home frangrances and perfumes I recently discovered.
Their lamps and home frangrances are high quality and remains the best at fragrancing
the air in a house while diffusing subtle fragrances.

Maurice Berger was a pharmacy dispenser who invented and patented the first lamp
to purify the air in 1898.
I picked a few of my favorite lamps on their website:

Of course, the house wouldn't feel like home to me, without an accessory closet like this:

And all over the house, there would be beautiful decorations like these bathroom treasures.

What do you think of my dream home?

Yours truly,

Shine Bright

One of the perks of living on my own are no forceful conversations is the morning.
I like coming and going whenever I please, and sometimes, I leave the dishes for 2 whole days.
I especially loved decorating my place when I found my apartment.
It’s not very big, but I made the best of it.

One of the downsides of living on my own (or more specifically, my apartment) is
the lack of natural light.

I tried to make the best of it, and set the dining table near a window, as well as
my office desk, but still… an extra window here and there would come in handy.

This stunning house does not have the same issues as me ;)
I think the owners build a window in every, single room. Smart!

Home Interiors

This room obviously has all the light in the world. From floor to ceiling nothing but window.

Home Interiors

I adore this room. The color-scheme, the whimsy feel & the 3 joining windows, providing tons of light.

You might be familiar with VELUX® products.
VELUX company offers window blinds, roof windows, suntunnels among others.
Their motto? “Bring light to life”.

I found it interesting to read on their website www.velux.com that a case study showed
(watch out, I’m bringing the research-geek out in me!) the impact of natural light on humans.
A Danish research showed that installing something as simple as installing new windows and
bringing more daylight into our homes may have positive effects on our body clock and general health.
A VELUX high-quality roof window is a perfect option.

Home Interior

This kitchen demonstrates the perfect example of how roof windows can transform, not just
a singular room, but an entire apartment.
A VELUX daylight solution makes it all possible.
And for enjoyment and comfort, At the touch of a button, you can operate all your VELUX windows and accessories.

How To Pick a Perfect Vase

A woman’s home is never quite complete or finished without flowers.
Today’s floral arrangements are endless, as well as the colors of the flowers or the vases they come in.
A single flower in a thin, fluted vase, or a large bouquet in a modern, square vase.

These photos I’m offering you, are a helpful guide in selecting that perfect vase for your home.
Whether it’s for the living room, the kitchen or your boudoir; DIY-project vases, store-bought vases,
or Venetian glass vases… there is something for every home and every style!

Let’s start with one of my favorite vases I spotted on the web. This is one of those super easy DIY-projects.
The vase itself is quite average but it has been made eye-catching by adding gold, round stickers for a
feastful polka-dot look. The pink tulips complete this lovely décor piece.

Vases

Staying with the theme of colorful tulips, these St. Patrick’s Day vases are a bundle of joy.
They look like DIY-vases at first glance, but they are actually purchased as they were.
However, empty jars can be used for many different flower arrangements.

Vases

Another fabulous vase I spotted on YourMurano.com: this gorgeous blown glass vase with gold leaf
could be an elegant centerpiece for your dinner table. The colors in its mid-section make it
suitable for every color of flowers.

Vases

Now let’s focus on where to put these pretty vases once you have them in your home.
My personal preference is to put them artfully on a chest, desk or table.
But if I had a fireplace in my home, I’d certainly know where to put them.
These pictures demonstrate how a few vases on a fireplace, decorate the entire room:

Now on to my last favorite vases I wanted to show you; this glamorous glittered vase
completes every woman’s boudoir or walk-in closet! So luxurious.

Vases

And this DIY-project uses colored tape to embellish an ordinary, white vase.
You could also use nail stickers instead of colored tape.

Vases

I decorated my boudoir chest in my home for Easter with a tufted, ecru vase with
various Easter decorations, I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t stored the Easter
decorations because they look so cute!

Your truly,

Gallery Wall Art

Love

Hanging pictures or wall art makes an unpractical wall cosy and worthy to
stop and take a minute to look at.

I've tried it myself with my previous bedroom. The result was a wall full of
my favorite vacation & family pictures.

I love how this room incorporated the letter 'L' in each portrait.
Perhaps the 'L' for 'Love'?

Fancy Staircase

This fancy staircase is a perfect example of how to use all that space
above the stairs. Instant cosiness.

Bright Room

It doesn't have to be a cluster of family photographs all at once.
This pastel blue room shows how a few paintings can give the same effect.

Antique Desk

I love this antique desk with the gold-framed pictures.
Ideal for a study room of guest room.

Boudoir

A shoe painting for a ladies boudoir!

Striped Room

A sucker for stripes I am. This living room demonstrates that even a
textured wall paper can work with gallery paintings on the wall.

Reading Area

The shades of grey, black and white make this sitting area not too crowded,
yet easy on the eyes.

Pink Room

There's nothing like a pet to make you feel at home.
The owners decided to make their dog the star of this pink room!

Neutral Bedroom

And lastly, one of my favorite Horchow bedrooms:
this neutral heaven of a bedroom!

Au Revoir,

Christmas Interiors

Surprisingly, red is not the color that rules during Christmas.
It seems a lot of white and other white-tones are taking over the house.

I have put up my Christmas decor last week. So cosy!
And you? Do you go all out with Christmas decorating?

Seasonal Greetings,
